What is a chameleon windscreen?
Chameleon windscreen is a reflective window film for the front windscreen, designed to reduce the amount of heat entering the vehicle as well as enhancing the looks. It also blocks 99% of harmful UV rays, reducing potential skin damage for drivers and passengers. With many colours to choose from, you can pick the one that suits the colour of your car best.
Is chameleon windscreen tinting legal in the UK?
It is legal as long as the windscreen still lets enough light through with the film on. For cars first used on or after 1 April 1985, the windscreen must let at least 75% of light through (70% for older cars). The police and DVSA measure it on the car, film and glass together, and factory windscreens already block some light, so the result depends on your glass as well as the film. That's why we only offer our lighter chameleon shades for windscreens, and we test every roll of film when it arrives. A windscreen under the limit can mean a prohibition notice, a fine or a court summons.
What colours are available?
Aqua Blue, Subtle Blue and Burning Red, described in the colour options above. They're our lighter chameleon shades, which is what a windscreen needs to stay above the legal limit.
How long does it take?
Between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the size of the windscreen.
Where is it fitted?
At our Ilford workshop, Unit 4 Ethelbert Gardens, IG2 6UL. As it takes under an hour, most customers wait while it's done.
How do I look after my chameleon windscreen?
Leave the inside of the windscreen alone for about a week while the film settles. A slight haze or a few small water spots in that time are normal and clear as it dries. After that, clean the inside with a soft microfibre cloth and an ammonia-free glass cleaner, and never use a scraper or anything abrasive on the film.
Can the film be removed later?
Yes. The film can be peeled off and the adhesive cleaned from the glass, leaving the windscreen as it was. Get in touch if you'd like it removed.

We provide a lifetime warranty with our chameleon windscreen tint. We only use the best quality materials with the best specification of film, and we aim to make sure every customer is completely satisfied.
