Benefits of alloy refurbishment
-
Improve chances of selling your vehicle
Cars with refurbished alloy wheels sell faster than cars with damaged wheels. Damaged wheels can turn off potential buyers; with refurbished wheels the car appears cleaner and in better condition, increasing saleability significantly.
-
Optimal for lease and rental returns
Lease and rental companies can charge a heavy premium when a car is returned with damaged wheels. Refurbishing your alloys with us before the return saves you money on potential penalties and excess charges.
-
Reduce tyre air leaks
Damaged alloys can cause slow air leaks. With a full refurbishment, air leaks from damaged alloys are much less likely: corrosion and minute cracks are covered comprehensively by our painting process.
-
Enhance the looks of your vehicle
Clean, undamaged alloys improve the aesthetics of your car. After a refurbishment your wheels look fresh and clean, and our custom colour options let you add your own input to the look.
How we refurbish your alloys
- 01
Strip the wheels
Tyres are removed completely for access to the entire wheel, along with all previous balancing weights and valves.
- 02
Back to bare metal
Each wheel is dipped in strong acid to remove all previous paint, then sanded and shot-blasted to remove surface damage.
- 03
Inspect, repair & prep
Wheels are inspected for damage, repaired, then cleaned and prepared for the powder coating stage.
- 04
Powder coat
The wheel is pre-heated to around 180°C to release gas from the alloy, covered with the powder paint of your choice, and re-heated.
- 05
Diamond cut (optional)
A CNC machine cuts the face of the wheel, giving the well-known diamond cut effect.
- 06
Lacquer, bake & refit
A clear lacquer coat gives a strong gloss look and lasting protection from corrosion. Wheels are baked, cooled, refitted with tyres, rebalanced, quality-checked, and fitted back onto your vehicle.
Colours & finishes
This is where your creativity can shine. Wheels can be painted in standard stock colours, custom chrome and candy colours, or multiple colours combined, plus optional CNC diamond cutting.

Frequently asked questions
What is car alloy refurbishment?
Alloy refurbishment repairs and removes damage caused by kerbing, as well as normal corrosion and paint peeling, which is very common on alloy wheels over 5 years old. The process restores a flat, smooth surface to your wheel.
Can any car alloy be refurbished?
Yes, all alloy wheels can be refurbished. In very rare instances a wheel is damaged beyond repair, or to an extent that bringing it back is uneconomical, but this is usually not the case.
Can I change the colour of my alloys?
Yes, one of the major benefits of refurbishment is choosing the colour your wheels are finished in. Wheels can be painted in standard stock colours, custom chrome and candy colours are available, and multiple colours can be combined to create your desired look.
How long does alloy refurbishment take?
Standard powder coating takes 1-2 days, with 80% completed within one full day. Diamond cut repair takes between 2 and 5 days, although the majority of diamond cut wheels are completed within 3 days.
Do you offer collection?
Yes, we offer collection across London and Essex; ask when booking for a quote.
Is there a guarantee with alloy refurbishment?
We guarantee the paintwork for 12 months starting the day of collection. The guarantee covers any issue relating to the completion of the paint work.
